UK-based position at OASPA

November 17, 2015 by Claire Redhead

Membership and Communications Assistant / Membership and Events Coordinator

The Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association, OASPA, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to help with the running of this rapidly developing organisation.  The role will involve assisting with communications both externally and with our membership, as well as helping to run and develop our events, in person and online.  Reporting to the Membership & Communications Manager, this position offers a great opportunity to work with high profile companies and leading figures in academic publishing.

We’re looking for a confident and professional communicator who is self-motivated.  Good organisational skills and project management skills are key as the role will involve working independently on a variety of projects simultaneously and delivering results to schedule. The role is offered on a freelance/self-employed basis working from home, fixed monthly rate to be agreed depending on experience (equivalent to £20-30,000 per annum). Flexible hours will be considered for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will be UK-based, educated to degree level or equivalent and comfortable with Microsoft Office and social media. Prior experience of marketing and/or organising events desirable. Knowledge of the academic publishing industry and open access preferred but not essential.

Applications to Claire Redhead, Membership and Communications Manager (claire.redhead@oaspa.org) by 31st December 2015.  Further information on OASPA can be found at https://oaspa.org.
