In my country (Chile) and region (Latin America), open access has no problems for its development; however, are still very few public statements and agreements on their behalf. How you can help us promote OA in our countries?

We are aware that recently at the 2nd National Congress of Scientific Journals in Chiapas (http://2cnrc.cesmeca.mx/magistrales.html) there was a session on the future of OA for Latin America and steps are definitely being taken to move towards standardisation. We are maintaining links with CLACSO, Redalyc and SciELO to help promote open access where we can. SciELO is a member of OASPA and Abel Packer presented at our annual conference at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 2014, as well as Dominique Babini representing CLACSO (https://oaspa.org/conference/presentations-coasp-2014/). Arianna Becerril-García of Redalyc will be speaking to delegates at our conference in the US this coming September (https://oaspa.org/conference/) and we look forward to sharing news about developments being made and promoting this more widely.

Many thaks for your reply. I think the problem is that no work is done directly with and everything is kept in high places. best regards
