Submissions are initially screened to determine correct format and word length, appropriate subject matter and use of English language.
CSTPV is the oldest research centre in Europe looking at terrorism and political violence. We have access to faculty members at St Andrews University and other institutions the world over who are renowned in this field, as well as well-respected subject experts from policy and industry who assist with reviews.
The assigned Editor selects peer reviewers. Guest Editors, when used, are knowledgeable in the field covered and will have direct contact with reviewers. Two reviews are required for a decision to be made. If however the reviewers are conflicting then a third reviewer is used.
Reviewers are given 28 days to write a constructive review on the article submitted. Reviews are based on answers to the following:
There are 3 outcomes – accept, reject or changes required. Articles requiring changes are re-reviewed.
