as the default for submissions, which leaves copyright of the content with whomever was the copyright holder (usually the author or institution) and enables text mining.

|Publication charge policy||Fees are payable according to the length of article submitted (based on word counts of the main body). Discounts are given for users of the F1000Prime service, members of the Faculty of 1000, referees and editorial board members. We adhere to HINARI/AGORA guidelines for submissions from low-income countries. Individual waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.|

All articles in F1000Research are published as open access.F1000Research also publishes posters and slides, as well as comprehensive reviews commissioned from F1000 Faculty members, after incorporating (in July 2015) the open access posters repository F1000Posters (http://f1000.com/posters) and the open access review journal F1000Prime Reports (http://f1000.com/prime/reports).
|Peer review policy||F1000Research operates a formal post-publication open peer review process. Referees’ reviews are published, attributed and permanently attached to the article. See http://f1000research.com/about
Articles that pass this formal peer review process are then indexed in PubMed, Scopus and other major bibliographic databases.
