|Publication charge policy||The costs of publication in Open Access journals BiO and DMM are covered by charging a fee to the authors or the research supporters for each accepted article. This fee is $1495 for BiO and £2500 for DMM (plus VAT if applicable). Complete or partial waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis, providing support for authors from developing countries or in genuine financial hardship. Hybrid model journals (Dev, JCS and JEB) offer authors the option of making the full text version of their article immediately accessible upon publication, through payment of an Open Access fee (£2500; plus VAT if applicable). There is no waiver option.|

Referee reports from articles rejected from Dev, DMM, JCS, JEB can be transferred with the article to BiO for editorial consideration.
