Dove Medical Press reinstated as OASPA Members

It has been almost two years since Dove’s membership was terminated owing to concerns about the rigour of the editorial and peer review processes at the journals. The concerns were highlighted by the publication of a fake manuscript as part of the “sting” exercise reported in Science in 2013.  Since then, Dove has been working to bolster their editorial processes and has introduced a number of improvements, including the listing of the editors who have provided oversight to the editorial evaluation of the articles.  Dove reapplied for membership of OASPA a few months ago.

The OASPA Membership Committee is satisfied that the new editorial procedures which are now in place have addressed the concerns that were raised during the investigation last year and, as a result, the Committee is pleased to reinstate Dove Medical Press as a full member of OASPA.
